As the summer months move into full swing, I see an increasing number of families traveling with their children in Laos. Whether taking advantage of vacation time, or extending their travel plans, it is wonderful to see kids take in experiences beyond the familiar. They're wide-eyed and inquisitive, and you just know they make all sorts of unforgettable connections.
Not too long ago, I met a family of four where a four-year-old and a six-year-old had been with their parents on a Southeast Asia tour for the last five months. The older daughter was lucky enough to be in a school that made provisions for her absence without taking away from her learning moments.
Some parents have chosen to move their family lives for longer periods of time and experience the world together. For more on this, visit this post on Happy Impermanence.
